| Gypsies, if it is at all possible, travel even more than the Bards. In    |
| many respects, the two classes are quite similar: they both have the same |
| assortment of weapons, armour and skills. There is a profound difference, |
| though, and that is the fact that Gypsies are not nearly as welcome as    |
| Bards. This is because when a Gypsy band comes through town, things       |
| always disappear. They are almost compulsive thieves -- but they are not  |
| evil. Gypsies just make their money by 'alternate means', as they say.    |
| They also command respectable magics, and this has saved many a Gypsy     |
| skin when the authorities have come to get them. Gypsies use the same     |
| weapons as thieves, for they need stealth to use their abilites, and      |
| because they need freedom in all things they do.                          |

S neaking Races

Races: Dark-elf, Elf, Halfling, Goblin, Nekojin

Pro's Vs Con's: Gypsies have an illuminate spell at level 2 and supernatural stealth at level 25 so don't limit yourself to a stealthy/NV race only. Both Dark-Elf and Nekojin have high intellect and agility, something a gypsy should not do without. On a pvp MUD, a Nekojin's tracking ability also comes in handy. However, you pay for this with the low health and high racial experience chart.

Best Races to use for Sneaking Gypsy:

Dark Elf - Best all around stats for the sneaking gypsy, decent experience chart along with some nice added bonuses such as racial stealth to help you through the first 24 levels, accuracy bonus and critical hit increase not to mention night vision if you don't feel like summoning light balls for light.

Goblin - Great race for a gypsy, good experience chart as well as good stats as far as most of your gypsy skills are concerned. Only downside is the lack of more strength but as a gypsy you don't really need all that much in the first place.

Nekojin - If you want to be a pvp character, this is the race you will want to have as a sneaker. Excellent agility and good intellect added with the tracking bonus gives it the added advantage in a figh. Downside to this race is its high experience chart and low health

Stat Suggestions (In order of raise). Note: This may vary depending on race!

  • Get everything to 50 and spend the remaining points on health at the beginning of the game. This will remove any penalties for stats under 50 and give you decent hps.
  • Health: Spend cps on Health until total spent is 100 through the next few short levels.
  • Intellect: Spend points on this until level 7 to help maintain Shld and blur and also to help mana regen a little.
  • Agility: Put all cps into this through level 10 so you can sneak/picklock your way through the quest halls.
  • Strength: Raise Strength to 60 so new weapons about to be available are not heavy.
  • Health: Spend the next 50 cps on health for more HPs. Low AC gypsies need all of the HPs and health regeneration they can get.
  • Agility: Spend cps on agility until level 15 for added stealth, picklocks, and swings.
  • Strength: Raise this to 80 so will be light while wearing wyvernhide/gypsy gear at level 20
  • Intellect: Spend cps on Intellect until level 25. Remember, your combat 2 is still pretty bad so you'll need spells and mana regen.
  • Health: Spend cps on health until level 30. Dark-elf will be max health by now.
  • Agility: Spend any remaining cps on agility until level 30 if applicable. Combat will show significant improvement about now.
  • Health: If health is not maxed, do so now.
  • Intellect: Work on this until level 35 to raise SC and mana regen. This will help with dragonfire and colour spray as well as help you maintain your blesses constantly.
  • Strength: If encumberance is not light, add strength until you are.
  • Agility: Work on this until level 40 so you get more swings with the midnight glare.
  • Agility: Finish maxing this out. This will not improve supernatural stealth, but will help with combat.
  • Willpower: Begin maxing this out. This will raise MR, perception, and add a little to SC. It isn't as important to SC as one might think for a gypsy. The majority of spells are lvl 30 or less and easy to cast.
  • Strength: If not maxed, do so now. This will help encumberance and add a little to max hits.
  • Charm: This is saved for last. It helps all skills a little and on a gypsy it's hardly even noticable with a 50 point jump.
N on Sneaking Races

Races: Human, Dwarf, Gnome, Half-elf, Half-Orc, Half-Ogre, Kang, and Guant

Pro's Vs Con's: For a nice well rounded race for Gypsy, pick Half-Elf. Half-Elves have low racial experience chart, well rounded stats, and the +10 to mana comes in handy. You don't have night vision, but a skull mask or the illuminate spell make up for that. You still get supernatural stealth at level 25 for perfect stealth. You also don't have to worry about low health. Overall, Half-Elf is the near closest perfect race for a gypsy, especially on a non pvp MUD game.

Best Races to use for Non-Sneaking Gypsy:

Kang - Awesome health, poison resist and natural 5/1 AC, 90 agil and intellect will get you by and 120 strength is enough to make encumberance none with the right gear.

Half Elf - Great all around stats for the non-sneaker including the experience chart which is only +15%

Gaunt One - This is the non-sneakers choice for a pvp race. With the ability to see the hidden and its Dark vision, you can't go wrong with a Gaunt One. It has a high intelligence level and good agil for the backstabs as well. Health is lacking severly tho but its additaves make up for that slightly. Surviving with low hps and low AC will be a challenge at lower levels.
